About Me

I’ve played with computers and technology since Radio Shack’s TRS-80 somewhere around 1977. My mom used to leave me at the store for hours and go shopping in the rest of the mall. You actually could do this ~40 years ago and there were no frantic police searches, nor pedophile encounters!

When I turned 13, my parents bought me an Apple ][+ for my birthday. Soon I was modifying it so that I could get a lowercase character-set instead of only YELLING in all caps. Then for another present I received a 300 baud modem so that I could dial-up bulletin boards and be social in a real geeky kind of way because we didn’t have Facebook, nor the internet.

Yes, I’m that old guy who tells you stories of what it was like to walk to school 5 miles in the snow with no shoes, except that never happened.

My dad was a lawyer and a politician. Some of that stuck to me, but I added my twist. Yes, I always have an opinion, even if you don’t know it because I’m biting my tongue listening to you.

I believe in integrity, hard work, and doing the right things for the right reasons. Your word is who you are. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are not old, outdated concepts, they are actually sacrosanct and make the world a better place.

The other side of that coin is, I’m trying to improve the human condition. I’m grateful for my short time on this earth, my family, friends, acquaintances and non-humans that I’m so fortunate to learn something from. Please, enjoy yourself here and I hope you learn something. You have every right to disagree with me, and to even never come back to this blog again. But I’m going to keep it respectful. Please pay it forward.

Lastly, there are links on this blog that are affiliate links. If someone is willing to pay me because I actually think something is neat, write about it, and you buy it, that’s an amazing aspect of capitalism! I love it and I thank you for participating in that!

In life and liberty,
